New adventures and challenges for the solo project.

JK Newsfeed (January 2014)

I am going to attempt something I believe has not been done before (I could be wrong). I'm writing 8-10 songs and in some cases co-writing.  I plan on working with Mike Lyons from an arrangement, bass and recording stand point.  Here's the catch.  I have roughly 16 local musicans (one is not local) that are going to be involved.  For each song all the writing, recording etc. will be done one on one with me and the "other" musician for his part (bass, keys, vocals etc.).  Each section or instrument will be recorded separately and the drums will be recorded last instead of first.  In other words the musicans that record on the same song will never be in the same room and in some cases they will never meet and could remain strangers.

Confused?  Crazy right?    I like crazy.

Finishing my recording obligations with Whoa! Tiger

JK Newsfeed  (January 2014)

Whoa!Tiger is set to complete their 5 song EP within the next couple of months.  I still have a few solo tracks to record.  The music is some of the best we have ever written and recorded.  Look for an announcemen once the EP is completed.

The new single: Frantic Chase is completed.  Three more songs in the works.

JK Newsfeed (January 2015)

Good things happen when you are patient.  My first single is finally completed and in the books.  Frantic Chase was a both a joy and a challenge to write and record.  It was fun pretending to be a guitar hero type.  Drawing on influences ranging from Steve Vai, Steve Morse and Mark Knopfler I wrote and produced this song quite frankly to get it out of my system.  Mike Lyons did an outstanding job on bass and Brian Gildea laid down one monster 16 bar drum solo without missing the song flavor.  I have begun work on 3 new songs; a latin dance piece, a serious, slow, minor symphonic structure and a sexy rocker in the vein of 1979 Van Halen.  Lots of fun ahead!
